Mutual Aid is the backbone of community building. People helping people live, work, and thrive here in the greater Kalamazoo area. We collect and distribute supplies and food to our unhoused neighbors. We partner with local organizations to build coalition and aid networks to benefit vulnerable community members. We also engage in advocacy around mutual aid, pushing local lawmakers to make changes so we can all live and thrive together.

Welcome to our street theater group!! We choose one location every few weeks in milder weather to march at a funereal pace carrying the “signs of fascism” and a coffin that represents “the death of democracy.” Always a fun time!

We have been meeting weekly since March 2025 at Rep. Huizenga’s office, Fridays from noon to 1 PM. We meet year round, so dress appropriately for the weather! We recommend rechargeable hand warmers and heated socks for the coldest winter days. In the summer, bring water. Carry a sign that tells Bill what you want him to do! 5228 Lovers Lane, Portage, MI

We always need volunteers to help organize our large community-wide or national protests. We offer peacekeeper and medic training, we also need crossing guards, people to collect food donations, medics, people comfortable with a megaphone to lead chants, and more. We hosted five major protests in 2025, the largest drawing over 10,000 people to the No Kings! Protest in October.

We are focused on electing progressive candidates in all elections throughout Southwest Michigan this year. We need all hands on deck to volunteer for canvassing, sign up for phone banking, and join our postcard writing team. Closer to November, we will need everyone to get out the vote, protect our polls, and drive people to the polls! We will start this work in April, 2026 so sign up now!
